About Me

Passion and Curiosity

I’m change party hotspots for authentic encounters and language barriers for real learning experiences. Failing along the way is part of the process – but I take it all in stride with a relaxed „Mai Pen Rai.“

Get ready: Starting in early 2028, the language challenge, insights into unknown provinces and honest reality checks of expat life will begin. Follow me on my journey through language barriers and heartwarming moments.

TRAVEL Experience

2024 – NOW

SOUTH EAST ASIA

Everything revolves around my greatest adventure: exploring the Thai metropolis with the love of my life. I’m planning and executing my move to Bangkok step by step, to build our life together in our beloved city. The „Bangkok – Day By Day“ project will begin in 2028.

2023

SOUTH EAST ASIA

In the second half of the year, I start my backpacking trip through Malaysia and Singapore, all the way to Bangkok. However, the greatest adventure awaited me off the beaten path: In Thailand, I met the love of my life. A journey that changed not only my passport, but my entire life!

2023

TRANSCAUCASIA

My road trip through Armenia and Georgia started in a 48-year-old Lada – a retro classic and a garage find from Yerevan. Since Turkey refused entry, I took a ferry across the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then continued through Greece, Italy, and Austria to Germany.

2023

SOUTH EAST ASIA

I spent the first three months in Bangkok, fully immersing myself in the life of the Thai metropolis. As a digital nomad, I used the time intensively to work on my blog, enjoy the city’s legendary street food stalls, and simply unwind. An absolute highlight for me!

2016 – 2022

SOUTH EAST ASIA

I expanded my horizons:

I explored the Chernobyl exclusion zone and backpacked through Bolivia and Peru. To bridge the gap during the pandemic, I dedicated myself to developing my blog overlandtour.de and intensively preparing for my Caucasus road trip in my Lada.

2015

EAST AFRICA

During my second sabbatical year in 2015, I was drawn back to Africa. I started in Ethiopia with an attempt to travel through Somaliland, before crossing Uganda and Tanzania on my overland route – including a safari in the Serengeti and relaxing days on the beach in Zanzibar.

2012

WORLD TRIP

My 2012 world trip was my first sabbatical year, which I had been planning for four years. Backpacking, I discovered highlights like South America, Jordan, Bali, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. The 15-month break changed my perspective on life and laid the foundation for my blog, Overlandtour.de.

2004 – 2011

SOUTH EAST AFRICA

My travel career began in 2004 in South Africa as a backpacker, followed by my first overlanding tours in Southeast Africa. I also took many short trips throughout South Africa.
